Dr Helen Zgurskaya

Dr. Helen I. Zgurskaya is the George Lynn Cross Professor of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma and the fellow of the American Academy for Microbiology. Dr. Zgurskaya is a graduate of Dnipropetrovsk State University, Ukraine (B. Sc. And M. S.) and Russian Academy of Sciences, Russian Federation (Ph.D.) and completed postdoctoral work at the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at Stanford University School of Medicine and the Department of Molecular and Cell Biology at University of California, Berkeley. In 2000-2010 she rose from Assistant Professor to full Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Oklahoma where she developed an interdisciplinary program on the mechanisms of antibiotic resistance, permeation and efflux and the discovery of new therapeutics for multidrug resistant bacterial infections.
