Prof Ryo Honda

Ryo Honda is a Professor in the Faculty of Geosciences and Civil Engineering at Kanazawa University, Japan. His expertise lies in antimicrobial resistance in water environments, wastewater-based epidemiology, and membrane-applied biological processes for water treatment and resource recovery. He obtained his Ph.D. from The University of Tokyo in 2005, and has been involved in numerous collaborative research projects in tropical Asian countries. Dr. Honda serves as board members in the Japan Wastewater Surveillance Association and Japan National Council for Promoting Wastewater Surveillance, and an Associate Editor of npj Clean Water (IF=10.4). His accolades include the Excellent Research Award from the Kurita Water and Environment Foundation in 2022. He recently contributed to "A One Health Priority Research Agenda for Antimicrobial Resistance" report by Quadripartite organization of FAO/UNEP/WHO/WOAH, and initiated the Asia-Pacific Researcher Network on Environmental Dimension of Antimicrobial Resistance (EnD-AMR-Asia), aiming to contribute to effective international decision-making and actions.
