Prof. Zhang has been engaged in research on the pathogenesis, diagnosis, and treatment of infectious diseases, focusing on precise pathogen diagnosis and new strategies for the treatment of infectious diseases. He established a precision pathogen diagnosis platform and alliance, which greatly improved the diagnosis ability of the cause of unexplained fever and emerging infectious diseases. Prof. Zhang has led a number of multi-center registered clinical trials involving MDR-TB, latent tuberculosis, and chronic viral hepatitis. Up to now, he has published over 200 peer reviewed papers in the area of infectious diseases and public health.
